MANILA - Before earning the coveted three-chair salute on "The Voice Kids" and joining the team of rock icon Bamboo Mañalac, Filipina-Japanese Alyssa Suzuki had been showcasing her raw vocal talent on the Internet.
Suzuki, on a YouTube account with her last name, is seen singing hits like Justin Bieber's "Love Yourself" and Sara Bareilles' emotional ballad "Gravity," among others. She also showed off her skills on the drums and the guitar in some of her song covers.
In an episode of "The Voice Kids" last Sunday, Suzuki wowed the coaches --Mañalac, Lea Salonga, and Sharon Cuneta-- with the exceptional quality of her voice as she sang Basil Valdez's "Ngayon."
"Ang ganda-ganda ng boses mo. Ang ganda ng song choice mo, very appropriate para sa isang batang katulad mo. Parang walang effort kahit ang taas taas na ng notes," Salonga told Suzuki.
She is the fifth member of Mañalac's team, joining Hans Gerald Santos, Xylein Herrera, Justin John Alva, and Aiken Ramos.
