MANILA – Britney Spears is now in Manila!
The pop music icon arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport on Thursday just hours before her first-ever concert in the country.
In a photo taken by Raoul Esperas for ABS-CBN News, Spears can be seen alighting a private plane wearing a casual outfit.
Spears' plane departed from Kaohsiung, Taiwan where she staged her last show before coming to the Philippines.
As expected, security was tight as the 20-seater chartered plane landed at the airport. Airline and airport employees were barred by the singer's close-in security to go near the aircraft.
She was whisked off on board a white sedan towards an undisclosed hotel prior to her concert Thursday night at the Mall of Asia Arena.
The show will be presented by local clothing brand Bench and concert organizer Wilbros Live.
A multi-platinum, Grammy award-winner, Spears is one of the most successful and celebrated entertainers in pop history with nearly 150 million records worldwide.
In the US alone, she has sold more than 70 million albums, singles and songs, according to Nielsen Music.
Spears first rose to fame as a teenager when she released her first single “Baby One More Time,” a Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 smash and international hit. She is also the voice behind “Oops I Did It Again,” “Toxic” and “Womanizer” among others.
Currently, Spears has a Las Vegas residency pop concert at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino, which has been voted “Best Show in Las Vegas” and “Best Bachelorette Show in Las Vegas.”
