MANILA – Before making it in the Blind Auditions of the second season of “The Voice Kids,” 12-year-old Francis Ryan Lim from Caloocan City has already appeared in a televised competition.

In 2013, Lim joined “It’s Showtime’s” Pinoy Halo-Halo where he competed against other young, global Filipino talents.

Although he was just a wildcard then, Lim was eventually declared the grand champion after his hair-raising rendition of Beyonce’s “Listen.”

Only 11 years old at that time, Vice Ganda said he was in awe of Lim’s stage presence.

“Nakakatuwa, parang matanda no? Parang walang katakot-takot. Nakakatuwa. Isa sa mga na-appreciate ko, tama yung bigkas niya ng [words ng kanta]. Bongga itong batang ito,” the comedian said of the young singer.

A video of the episode was uploaded in Lim’s YouTube page.

For his blind audition on “The Voice Kids,” Lim sang "I'll Be There," earning a three-chair turn.

Lim eventually chose to be part of Sarah Geronimo's team, prompting Salonga to note the singer-actress seemed to be popular among boys aged 12 to 13.

According to Lim’s pre-audition video, he already looks up to Geronimo since he was three years old.

Lim said he has also performed in various corporate events and campus tours. Below are some of Lim’s performances from these events:
