MANILA, Philippines – Philip Salvador is following in the footsteps of Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr., Jinggoy Estrada and other actor-politicians as he announced his plans to run for vice governor of Bulacan next year.

He believes that his candidacy is a blessing from God.

“Ako kasi kapag gusto ng Diyos, thy will be done. So ito, naririto na ako,” he said.

The actor also thanked his friends, Revilla and Estrada, for being there to support his plan.

Doon, nagpapasalmat ako kasi alam ko na mahal ako ng dalawang kaibigan ko,” he said, referring to Revilla and Estrada.

Salvador’s mother, Corazon Reyes, was born and raised in Baliuag, Bulacan.

The actor is poised to go against incumbent vice governor Daniel Fernando in the 2013 elections.
