MANILA – Not even the heavy rains can stop moviegoers from watching “Sid and Aya.”
The movie, starring Anne Curtis and Dingdong Dantes, has earned P144 million in three weeks, according to Viva Entertainment.
“Sid and Aya” is told from the perspective of Sid, a stockbroker who copes with his insomnia by hiring the mysterious Aya to spend time with him, leading to a complicated romance.
But as Curtis has time and again teased in promotional interviews, the movie is “not a love story.”
Neil Arce, who co-produced “Sid and Aya” with Viva Films, also took to social media to express his happiness over the success of their movie.
“Safe to say, we are now the number one Filipino movie of the year!” he said in an Instagram post on Wednesday.
