MANILA – A consistent honor student from Davao City proved that he also has the vocal chops when he made Sarah Geronimo turn for him in the blind auditions in the second season of “The Voice Kids.”

Ken Jhon Mebrano, 11, has been at the top of his class from kindergarten to Grade 5.

Mebrano sang the Aerosmith hit “I Don’t Wanna Miss A Thing.” Geronimo turned around as the contestant held the last high note of the song.

“Ay nako Ken Jhon, na overpower mo lang yata ako kaya hindi ako umikot,” coach Lea Salonga said.

Bamboo praised the child for sustaining the note at the end of the song.

While he congratulated the kid for making it to the Pop Princess’ team, he said, “I will keep my eye on you, Ken Jhon.”

Geronimo now has seven kids on her team.
