Ria Atayde shrugged off rumors romantically linking her with Joseph Marco, saying they're like siblings.

In an interview Tuesday on "Tonight with Boy Abunda," the "My Dear Heart" star shared that she became close with Marco because of her brother, Arjo Atayde.

"Si Joseph po at si Arjo, nagkatrabho sila sa 'Pure Love.' And simula noon, super naging best friends. And since my brother is also my best friend, we became like a trio," she recalled. "Until dumating sa point na si Joseph, dadalaw na lang sa bahay, hindi pa para kay Arjo, para sa akin na. We hit that point. Para siyang kuya sa akin."

Asked if maybe that's just Marco's way of courting, she quickly replied: "Ay hindi. Masyado akong maraming alam sa kanya. At masyado rin siyang maraming alam sa akin."

Rumors about their romance gained traction after Atayde posted a sweet photo of her with Marco, gushing over the actor winning an award last April.

She wrote as the caption: "I am extremely proud. Know that I am your number one fan as you claim to be mine. And well, for always pushing me, encouraging me and believing in me even when I don't believe in myself. I couldn't be more grateful let's celebrate your victory."

Ria also marked Marco's birthday with another sweet message, saying that is an "honor" for her to be his "only girl best friend."

Last month, Marco, who is part of the hit afternoon series "Wildflower," admitted to dating a non-showbiz woman. He did not give a name.
