MANILA – Apl.de.ap of the Black Eyed Peas is raring to return to “The Voice of the Philippines” and continue his job as a coach and mentor to aspiring singers.
In an interview with ABS-CBN News’ MJ Felipe on Wednesday, Apl.de.ap confirmed that he is definitely coming back for the talent show’s second season.
He also said he can’t wait to reunite with his fellow coaches Lea Salonga, Sarah Geronimo and Bamboo Manalac.
“I’m looking forward to what’s coming up. Definitely, I’d like to do the next one again,” he said.
Asked what he misses the most about doing the show, he said: “The banter with Lea, I can’t wait to do that again. I get to sermon Sarah, so all the Popsters are going to get mad at me again. And me and Bamboo, we are kind of like the allies. It’s going to be fun.”
But the Filipino-American rapper said aspiring singers should not be discouraged if they do not make it to competitions like “The Voice.”
“To all those aspiring singers out there, just because you don’t win any music competition, don’t give up. Keep believing in yourself, do a lot of shows, utilize all these social media to make yourself known,” he said.
Auditions for the second season of the talent show is already ongoing, while the kids’ edition of "The Voice" airs every Saturday and Sunday.
