MANILA — Angel Locsin turns the spotlight on everyday heroes in the new public service program "Iba 'Yan," as seen in its trailer released on Thursday.
"Sa pagkakataong ito, hindi po ako ang bida," Locsin, an acclaimed TV and film actress, says as she introduces the program.
"Iba 'Yan," which will air Sundays, 6 p.m., starting June 14 on Kapamilya Channel, features inspiring stories of individuals helping their countrymen amid the coronavirus crisis.
Among them, as shown in the trailer, is a priest caring for street dwellers, a designer creating and distributing face masks for free, and a woman who gave an old man a bicycle.
In each case, Locsin, along with fellow actress Dimples Romana, lend help to these individuals to further their causes, whether through donations or connecting them to government services.
Since the onset of the pandemic in the country, Locsin has been a visible figure in campaigns to bring aid to frontline workers and vulnerable sectors. Notably, the Department of Health publicly lauded her far-reaching #UniTentWeStandPH initiative.
Her most recent and ongoing project, Shop & Share, is meant to raise funds to purchase COVID-19 test kits specifically for underprivileged communities.
Kapamilya Channel will be available from June 13 on SKY, Cablelink, G Sat, and most member-cable operators of the Philippine Cable Television Association (PCTA) nationwide.
