MANILA – A nine-year-old singer from Tondo, Manila chose to be mentored by the coach whom he also likes to impersonate.
In the Saturday episode of “The Voice Kids 2,” young singer Romeo Espino tried to win the hearts of coaches Sarah Geronimo, Bamboo and Lea Salonga with his rendition of the song “Hesus.”
Although it took a while before he made any of the judges to turn for him, Espino eventually impressed Geronimo and Manalac with his angelic voice.
As for Bamboo, he lauded the young singer’s soothing tone.
May modulation. Ilabas mo 'yung natural. Hindi ito away,” he said.
Obviously a fan of Bamboo, Espino picked him as a coach, making him the first member of Team Bamboo.
