MANILA -- Liza Soberano is not taking her training for the upcoming Darna movie lightly.
On Instagram on Wednesday, Soberano, who has been chosen to play the Filipina superhero, shared a number of photos of her boxing, doing battle rope exercises and planking.
“If it doesn’t challenge you, it won’t change you,” she wrote in the caption before adding the hashtag #DarnaTraining.
It has been a little over a year since it was confirmed that Soberano will be playing Darna. Since then, the actress has been hard at work to get into shape for the part.
In a previous interview with ABS-CBN News, Soberano said she will undergo intensive physical training, as well as acting and dialogue workshops, in preparation for the movie.
"I want to look physically strong," she said, adding that she would like to do her own stunts.
A release date for the "Darna" movie, which will be produced by Star Cinema and directed by Erik Matti, has yet to be released.
Angel Locsin was first slated to star in the movie but had to back out because of a spine injury.
