MANILA — The Movie Workers Welfare Foundation, Inc. on Friday welcomed the return of ABS-CBN shows via the Kapamilya Channel on SKY, Cablelink, G Sat, and most member-cable operators of the Philippine Cable Television Association (PCTA) nationwide.
On Thursday, ABS-CBN announced that the hit series “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano” and other Kapamilya shows will be shown on the Kapamilya Channel starting June 13.
ABS-CBN TVPlus’ Cinemo will also air ‘Ang Probinsyano’ starting June 15 after "TV Patrol."
In a statement sent to ABS-CBN News, Mowelfund’s president Rez Cortez said hey are happy with the recent development, which will benefit the employees and workers of the television network.
Cortez also stressed that Mowelfund is still praying for the renewal of the franchise of ABS-CBN.
Here is the full statement:
“We, the Mowelfund, Inc., a welfare foundation for the active and inactive members of the film and television industry, are pleased with the development that many of the favorite primetime shows of the Kapamilya network can now be watched over at Sky Cable and G Sat and in most of the cable TV all over the country.
"Being a welfare foundation, we were saddened by the cessation of the TV network’s operations, since mostly affected by the stoppage are the ordinary workers of the network.
"While we are one with others in prayers for the immediate renewal of the network’s franchise, we are glad that the workers of the Kapamilya Channel would soon find themselves productively back to their jobs with the resumption of the ABS-CBN TV programs on cable TV.
"We wish the best for ABS-CBN and all its workers.”
