Vice Ganda appeared hesitant but ultimately managed a response when asked to give a hypothetical question to the trio of Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey de Leon, whose long-running noontime show is the direct competition of the comedian's own "It's Showtime."
The challenge was part of the seventh anniversary celebration of "Gandang Gabi Vice," which launched numerous new segments on Sunday to mark the milestone.
One of those segments, "Tanong Mo, Mukha Mo," has guests being shown photos of different persons to whom they should then address a question.
Prompted to throw a question to the hosts of "Eat Bulaga," Vice Ganda said: "Gusto ko itanong sa kanilang tatlo kung, 'Natatawa ba kayo sa akin o nabibuwisit kayo sa akin?'"
Initially titled "Showtime," the Kapamilya program debuted in 2009 as a morning talent show with Vice Ganda as one of its regular judges. It then evolved as the flagship noontime show of ABS-CBN, with the updated title "It's Showtime," several new segments, as well as new hosts in 2012.
Throughout the six years "It's Showtime" has aired against "Eat Bulaga," Vice Ganda notably hasn't shied away from referencing the GMA-7 show, to hilarious effect. Just recently, he recreated a popular moment of the onscreen tandem "Aldub," and in another episode, joked that viewers should watch the Channel 7 program instead, after a broken prop disrupted a segment on "It's Showtime."
