MANILA – Kathryn Bernardo considers her best actress award as a validation that true dedication really does pay off.
Bernardo was recognize for her performance as George in “The Hows of Us” at the 35th PMPC Star Awards for Movies on Sunday.
She shared the award with Sarah Geronimo for her performance in the film “Miss Granny.”
“Ang dami kong whys last year before we shot ‘The Hows of Us.’ And then 'yung pinakabaon na natutunan ko siguro while making this film and 'yung [itinuro] sa akin ng universe, is that life is not perfect. It doesn’t always go the way we want it to be. Itong award na ito, this is a validation that true dedication really does pay off,” she said.
Though she learned it the hard way, Bernardo said encountering trials should never stop anyone from reaching their lifelong dreams.
“Napatunayan din nito na it’s okay not to be okay sometimes. It’s okay to get tired in the process. It’s okay to fail even kasi lahat iyan, part ng journey natin. What’s important is you stand up and you try again until you make that dream a reality,” she said.
Aside from her family, her boyfriend Daniel Padilla, and everyone who continues to believe in her, Bernardo dedicated her award to all her fellow dreamers.
“Lahat ng nandito ngayon at sa lahat ng nanaonood, it’s okay to dream big… ang important is you try, and try again kahit na mag-fail ka. Just try again. Always remember that you will always have a shot at making that dream come true. Para sa lahat ng nangangarap, para din sa inyo ito,” she said.
