A man who helped pay for his mother's cancer treatment through his singing is moving on to the next round of "Idol Philippines."
Carlo Bautista's cover of IV of Spades' "Mundo" earned him all 4 yeses, which got him a "golden ticket."
Regine Velasquez drove him to tears when she praised his voice: "You can sing anything. You have that kind of voice that can adjust to whatever song."
According to Bautista, he and his siblings were raised by their mother alone. His sibling had to take a job abroad when their mom was diagnosed with breast cancer.
He did add that their mother has been cancer free for 4 years now.
Hosted by Billy Crawford, "Idol Philippines" airs Saturdays after "Home Sweetie Home" and Sundays after "Wansapanataym."
