MANILA - KC Concepcion admitted on Monday that her family is going through a problem that she hopes to be fixed, following her mother Sharon Cuneta's revelation of a rift between them.
The 30-year-old actress was cornered on the subject on the sidelines of the June 1 launch of #KCxMN, a photo exhibit she spearheaded with fashion photographer Mark Nicdao for the benefit of earthquake victims in Nepal.
The two-day event, also dubbed #PHxNepal, is in partnership with the United Nations World Food Programme, of which Concepcion is an ambassador, and will have 100% of its proceeds go to its beneficiary.
Asked if she invited her mother and their family to the event, Concepcion said they've confirmed they will visit the gallery set up at the SM Megamall Atrium in Mandaluyong.
Concepcion is the only child of Cuneta with ex-husband Gabby Concepcion. The screen veteran has three younger children -- Frankie, Miel and Miguel -- with former senator Francis Pangilinan.
"You know, we're mother and daughter," Concepcion said. "I will love my mom. My mom is my mom forever so I will love her forever. As any mother and daughter, we're not perfect."
Cuneta earlier expressed her frustration over a sexy photo of Concepcion, saying she is hurt every time she sees her daughter in daring pictorials and pointing out that these have been repeated instances.

While she did not give details, Cuneta admitted that she has a rift with Concepcion and that "the reasons are sad and not made public as they are personal and have been going on for way longer than people will ever know."
Pointing out that her frustration goes beyond Concepcion's sexy photos, the "Your Face Sounds Familiar" judge hinted that her daughter's behavior towards her has also been a problem.
"And yes, she is an adult now," Cuneta replied to a follower who advised her to let go of Concepcion. "I think adults should know better especially in terms of gratitude and respect, don't you think?"
Speaking with reporters, Concepcion chose to keep mum on details of her rift with her mother but said she hopes that their differences will be resolved soon.
"I feel na to protect her, ayoko nang magsalita at palakihin 'yung issue, and because I love my family, I feel na... I'm very hopeful na whatever we've been going through for a long time na, will be fixed," she said.
She added: "I'd like to keep family affairs private. For me, and this is just me -- to protect my family, to protect my mom, I would rather keep our family affairs private."
