Vanya Castor went home not just with a golden ticket, which means that she's moving on to the next round of "Idol Philippines," but also with an impressive story to tell: she made Regine Velasquez cry.
Velasquez, who has probably heard everything by now, teared up while listening to Castor's beautiful cover of the classic "Somewhere Over the Rainbow."
"This is the first time I actually cried in a performance," Velasquez told the 23-year-old singer from Bacolod. "Maybe because you sang it so sincerely and it got me. So thank you for that."
All of the other judges agreed that Castor's was perhaps one of the most moving auditions they heard, and they all fittingly gave her their resounding yeses.
Hosted by Billy Crawford, "Idol Philippines" airs Saturdays after "Home Sweetie Home" and Sundays after "Wansapanataym."
