MANILA – Julia Barretto was beaming with pride when she talked about her younger sister Claudia, who is now venturing into the music industry.
“That girl is wise beyond her years. Napakatalino, alam na niya 'yung ginagawa niya. More than anyone in our family, she’s very wise. She knows what she’s doing,” Julia told ABS-CBN News and other reporters at the sidelines of the Star Magic Games on Sunday.
When asked what kind of music Claudia will come up with, Julia said: “I don’t want to give it away. I think she wants to surprise people but definitely it’s not the typical OPM na you hear nowadays.”
However, Julia does not think Claudia will follow her footsteps.
“Hindi naman [siya magsho-showbiz]; music industry lang. I don’t think she plans on acting. She’s very focused on her music right now,” she said.
Nonetheless, Julia said she could not be prouder of her sister who is now pursuing her dreams.
Claudia signed a recording contract with Universal Records early this month and is looking forward to share her music with her fans.
“It’s something I’ve always wanted to do,” she said in a video posted on the Facebook page of Universal Records, adding, “I decided that it was time to start making music.”
In the same video, Claudia said people can expect her songs to be a mix of pop and RnB.
Julia and Claudia are the daughters of former celebrity couple Marjorie Barretto and Dennis Padilla.
