MANILA - Maja Salvador got hurt in a recent episode of "The Legal Wife" where she had a physical confrontation with Angel Locsin, according to one of the series' cast members.

Speaking with ABS-CBN News' Mario Dumaual on Thursday, actress Matet de Leon said Salvador sustained a bruise from the hair-pulling scene aired last Wednesday.

"May pasa si Maja dito (points behind ear) atsaka sa batok. Namamaga," said de Leon, who plays Rowena in the top-rating series.

In the May 21 episode of "The Legal Wife," an enraged Monica (Locsin) attacks Nicole (Salvador) after finding out that she recently saw her husband, Adrian (Jericho Rosales).

The violent scene has Monica holding Nicole by her hair and hitting her several times. Monica is only pacified when Nicole makes a panicked confession that she is pregnant with Adrian's child.

Matet's 'best role ever'

Referring to Rowena as the "best role ever," de Leon said she agrees with the decisions of her character in supporting Nicole amid her problems, but only to a certain extent.

"Every night tinuturan ko po siya ng leskyon," de Leon said. "Pero siyempre ayoko naman masyadong durugin 'yung role ni Maja na si Nicole, kasi siyempre, best friend na nga niya ako, ayon sa kanya. So ayoko naman siya masyadong dikdikin."

She added: "Siyempre, ipapakita mo lang sa kanya kung ano'ng tama talaga, kasi [nababaliaw] na siya, e, kay Adrian."

De Leon said that should a close friend of hers face a similar situation as Nicole's, she would handle it as Rowena does in the soap. "Ganoon din po, itatama, kasi mali po. Mali po 'yung ginagawa ni Nicole," she said.

Asked how she would react if she were to have Monica's dilemma in real life, de Leon quipped, "Bisitahin niyo nalang po ako sa prisinto! May pag-aamok na magaganap! Meron!"

"The Legal Wife," which is under the direction of Rory Quintos and Dado Lumibao, airs weeknights after "Ikaw Lamang" during ABS-CBN's primetime block.
