MANILA - Millions watched the finale of "Forevermore" on Friday with many enthralled by the mystery surrounding the series' conclusion.
Prior to the final episode, the show still had a couple of plot threads to untangle, which included the love story between the main characters Agnes Calay (Liza Soberano) and Xander Grande (Enrique Gil), and the controversy surrounding an agro-project near Sitio La Presa, to name a few.
The much-anticipated finale ended with Xander proposing to Agnes atop of Mt. Pulag, before the former jetted off to Japan to finish a four-year scholarship.
Moments after the episode aired, the show's official hashtag #ForevermoreFinale became the most tweeted phrase worldwide, with many voicing out their support for the cast and writers of the show.
Others lamented that the series wrapped up, while some were caught off guard by the conclusion.
"So many unresolved issues. What about Jay and Agnes? What happens to Agnes' mom? How about La Presa's water supply?" mused one netizen.
The phrase "Kung Tayo" was also among the local trending topics, with many singing praise for the episode's opening scene where the two main characters traded a couple of "What If" scenarios.
The terms "Rebound" and "Erich" were also among the top 10 most talked about topics. It referred to a scene in the episode where Xander broke up with Alex, portrayed by Erich Gonzales.
