MANILA - Florencia Cornejo, the grandmother of Deniece Cornejo, has filed a grave coercion complaint against the lawyer of Vhong Navarro following an alleged physical confrontation last Friday.

Florencia filed the complaint on Tuesday at the Taguig Regional Trial Court, where her supposed confrontation with Atty. Alma Mallonga took place during the last hearing of Navarro's serious illegal detention charge against Deniece, Cedric Lee, and Simeon "Zimmer" Raz, Jr.

Florencia claimed that she was pushed by Mallonga after she saw her wearing a shirt that says, "Justice for Deniece, Jail the Rapist," in reference to the rape case filed by Deniece against Navarro that has since been dismissed by the Department of Justice.

Mallonga has denied the allegations. She said she only asked Florencia what she was wearing, noting that the judge had advised against such provocative expressions.

The lawyer said she neither pushed Florencia nor pulled her shirt, contrary to what the latter alleged.

Aside from suing Mallonga for grave coercion, Florencia said she is seeking to have the lawyer disbarred.

Meanwhile, Navarro's camp presented Dr. Kirt Delovino during Tuesday's hearing for the serious illegal detention case.

Delovino said he treated Navarro at St. Luke's Medical Center in Taguig after the alleged mauling inside Cornejo's condominium unit last January 22.

Explaining what their camp is aiming to prove with Delovino's testimony, Mallong said, "On the basis of the diagnosis, the injuries that were sustained, and the treatment that Vhong Navarro received, you can say or you can conclude that he suffered serious physical injuries as this is defined under the law."
