MANILA – Kim Chiu has been an avid fan of UAAP volleyball.
In fact, she cheered for three teams throughout the season: the University of the Philippines Lady Maroons, the De La Salle University Lady Spikers and the University of Santo Tomas Golden Tigresses.
Since it was the team from España that made it to the finals, Chiu obvuously cheered for them against Ateneo de Manila University leading up to their face-off at the court.
Unfortunately, UST lost to Ateneo in the best-of-three finals.
Nonetheless, this didn’t stop Chiu from hailing UST’s team captain, Sisi Rondina, as a “true legend.”
“Naiiyak ako for sisi!!! Huhu diko naman siya kilala personally but followed her journey in uaap!!! Grabe ang puso!!! Lalo today!!! She did everything kaso kulang parin talaga,” her unedited Twitter post reads.
“Congrats sisi rondina!!!! You are a true legend!!! Puso and determination! UST PARIN!!!!” she added.
Chiu likewise reposted a netizen’s tweet, noting how joyful it is to see the actress supporting her fellow Cebuana.
Rondina was named as the tournament’s Most Valuable Player.
At the end of her UAAP career, Rondina was showered with praise everywhere, with the Ateneo gallery at Mall of Asia Arena also showing its appreciation for the gutsy spiker.
