MANILA - The judges of "Idol Philippines" gushed over a contestant's cover of Rivermaya's "Himala."
Twenty-year-old Denize Castillo was one of the contestants who performed on Sunday's episode.
She earned praises for her rendition of the hit song.
"I love your voice," Moira dela Torre told Castillo.
"You are definitely a singer. You made it look so fun, and you made me want to sing. I really felt you," James Reid added.
Castillo was also praised for her determination in overcoming Bell's Palsy, as well as her dream to use her voice to bring her mother, who works abroad, back home.
She received the coveted "golden ticket" to Idol City.
Hosted by Billy Crawford, "Idol Philippines" airs Saturdays after "Home Sweetie Home" and Sundays after "Wansapanataym."
