It's not known to many of today's movie fans, but Rita Avila used to be one of the sexiest actresses in the local entertainment industry.
And "Tonight With Boy Abunda" wanted to fix that when she guested Thursday, asking Avila to look back at some of the movies she worked on back in 1990s.
She gamely shared fun anecdotes about her experience filming titles such as 1990's "Iputok Mo . . . Dadapa Ako! (Hard to Die)," 1991's "Mainit, Masarap . . . Parang Kaning Isusubo," and 1987's "Huwag Mong Buhayin Ang Bangkay."
Nowadays, Avila is known more for her children's books.
She wrote them as a way to cope with losing her baby in 2006. She said that she was driven to inspire people going through similar experiences.
Avila was on the late-night talk show to promote her role in "Precious Hearts Romances: Araw, Gabi," the afternoon drama top-billed by JM de Guzman and Barbie Imperial.
