VANCOUVER, Canada - Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez wowed her fans as she took the stage for the Vancouver leg of her concert tour, “Songbird Sings.”
Fans were in full force to support their idol, and the Songbird did not disappoint.
Velasquez brought her fans to memory lane with songs from her past albums.
She also gave tribute to National Artist Ryan Cayabyab by including some of his compositions in her repertoire.
The audience shrieked when Velasquez sang her cover of Nonoy Zuniga’s “Araw Gabi.”
“They were wonderful, very responsive, and they laughed at all the jokes. They’re a listening crowd also, so we actually liked the crowd kasi nakikinig talaga,” she said.
Velasquez’ special guest is none other than her husband, OPM icon Ogie Alcasid.
The couple sang one of Alcasid’s songs, “Bakit Ngayon Ka Lang.”
The North American tour is the first time the duo is in a concert together as Kapamilya stars.
“Ngayon na pareho na kaming Kapamilya, mas nagkakaroon ng meaning 'yun dahil magkapamilya na nga kami at Kapamilya pa kami. It is a great honor and pleasure for both of us to go around the world as Kapamilya,” Alcasid said.
Their son Nate joined them in their trip.
“He got very excited when he found out that we were gonna go to Canada kasi it’s his first time to Canada. Kaya lang unfortunately, our trip was so short. We’re not able to make him pasyal. We are hoping that we can come back,” Velasquez said.
It was a first for some of Velasquez’s fans to see her long awaited concert.
Velasquez continues her concert tour with six more shows in California and Las Vegas.
