MANILA — Dionisia Pacquiao, the mother of senator and boxing champion Manny Pacquiao, was surrounded by her loved ones as she turned 70 on May 15.
On Instagram, Manny shared a photo of his family with the Pacquiao matriarch, captioned: “Mom, I can’t put into words how much you mean to all of us! All the hard work and selflessness to get us to where we are today. Happy 70th Birthday, Mommy D.”
Manny’s wife, Jinkee, posted similar photos, wishing more blessings for her mother-in-law.
“We love you so much!” she wrote.
The celebration of Dionisia’s birthday appeared relatively more intimate that in past years, when the Pacquiao family would throw a grand bash complete with production numbers and media coverage.
Over the years since Manny rose to international acclaim as a champion boxer, Dionisia has unwittingly attracted her share of the spotlight with her endearing antics.
For a time, she joined showbiz as a comedienne and inspired hit impersonations from the likes of Melai Cantiveros and Awra Briguela.
