MANILA — Ivana Alawi may look admittedly "wild" and "liberated" in appearance, but that doesn't mean she would be so careless as to subject herself to a sex scandal.
This was Alawi's assertion as she addressed a circulating lewd clip that supposedly shows her.
"Nakikita ko siya, pero dinidedma ko siya, kasi unang-una hindi naman ako 'yun, e. Sa mga taong nakakakilala talaga sa akin, alam nilang hindi ako 'yun," Alawi said in her May 14 vlog.
Alawi was answering questions sent by followers during a "mukbang" with her sister, Mona. Among the queries sent pertained to the alleged scandal, asking whether she was indeed involved.
"Gusto ko siya i-address once and for all. Hindi ako 'yung na sa video na 'yun. In-edit nila 'yun. Nakakatakot actually 'yung mga nagagawa nila sa internet," she said.
Alawi is aware of her sexy image, owing to her Instagram page where she flaunts her fit figure in revealing outfits. But that doesn't mean she is willing to go a step further, she stressed.
"You know, alam kong mukha akong wild, 'yung walang pakialam, liberated. Proud ako dito — you will never, ever see any scandal of mine on the internet," Alawi said.
"Unang-una, wala akong makukuha doon, pag nag-video ako o nag-video ako nang nakahubad. Bakit? Never ko siya naisip na gawin, ever in my life. Tapos isi-send mo sa mga lalaki? 'Pag ginagawa mo 'yun, I have nothing against you, pero I'm just saying that for myself," she added.
Numerous times, Alawi's past boyfriends would ask her to send them a photo of her naked. Her answer: "Never."
"Kahit mukha akong ganito, never kong gagawin 'yun. 'Yung madi-disappoint 'yung nanay ko sa ganoong bagay," she said.
Alawi recalled that her mother, Fatima, initially had reservations about her taking on a sexy image as an actress and model, for fear she would be "judged."
"But she accepted me because mahal niya ako," she said.
"The thought of me bringing it to another level na maggawa ako ng scandal, o mag-picture nang hubad — grabe na 'yun, girl. Hindi ko kaya 'yun," she said.
