Lucy Torres-Gomez is on her way to a comfortable win in her bid for reelection as representative of the 4th district of Leyte, based on partial, unofficial results posted Tuesday.

The counts showed Torres-Gomez (PDP Laban) ahead of her political rival, Winnie Codilla (Lakas), by a wide margin of more than 120,000 votes. She had 175,191 votes as of 2:19 a.m. from 1,737 of the total 1,757 clustered precincts against Codilla's 50,255.

Her husband, Richard Gomez, is similarly in a winning position over a member of the Codilla family. Gomez, who is running for reelection as the incumbent mayor of Ormoc City, had 75,676 votes. 

His opponent, Eric Codilla, had 28,969 votes from the city's total 198 clustered precincts.
