MANILA – Some celebrities could not hold back their reactions following the outcome of the 2019 midterm elections.
On Twitter, Adrian Alandy of the afternoon series “Kadenang Ginto” expressed his frustration over the current Top 12 in the senatorial race, saying it includes “criminals” and “thieves.”
“Kulang pa ba ang ninakaw nila sa bansa natin para iboto natin sila sa Senado?” he asked.
Actress Alessandra de Rossi, on the other hand, feels the Philippines needs “10 kilos of hope” given the results of this year’s elections.
“Bagsak. Paano tayo babangon?” she asked.
Like De Rossi, singer JK Labajo is starting to lose hope in the Philippines, saying he wants to move to another country.
“Wala na bang standards ang ating mga kababayan? Mukhang wala na talaga,” he said.
Singer-actress Saab Magalona, on the other hand, urged the public to not blame the "uneducated voters" over the election results, but “the educated leaders who want to keep them uneducated.”
For her part, actress Janine Gutierrez said the outcome of the 2019 midterm elections is “breaking my heart.”
Administration-backed candidates have kept their lead in the Senate race, partial results from Monday’s midterm elections showed.
