MANILA -- Richard Gomez was on track to retain his seat as the mayor of Ormoc City, unofficial, near-complete results from the election indicated.

His opponent, Eric Codilla of Lakas, got 29,795 votes.
Gomez's campaign centered on maintaining peace and order in Ormoc City and a promise to continue ridding the city of illegal drugs.
Gomez's wife, Lucy Torres-Gomez, who is seeking reelection as the representative of the 4th District of Leyte, was in a similar winning position in her own race. She had 177,938 votes against Winnie Codilla's 50,969 votes.
