ABS-CBN wins big at 2011 Guillermo Mendoza Awards 1MANILA, Philippines – ABS-CBN dominated the 42nd Guillermo Mendoza Memorial Scholarship Foundation Awards after the Kapamilya network bagged 18 out of 27 prizes during the awards night held at the RCBC Plaza in Makati City on Tuesday night.

Comedy Concert Queen Ai-Ai delas Alas was named Box Office Queen for Star Cinema’s “Ang Tanging Ina Mo: Last Na ‘To,” while actress Angelica Panganiban was named Comedy Actress of the Year for “Here Comes The Bride.”

“Showtime” resident Vice Ganda was conferred the Bert Marcelo Memorial Award.

Pop Star Princess Sarah Geronimo and Asia’s Romantic Balladeer Christian Bautista bagged the Female Recording Artist of the Year and Male Recording Artist of the Year, respectively.

International singing sensation Charice, who just turned 19 on Tuesday, was named Female Concert Performer of the Year, while Pilipinas Got Talent Season 1 grand champion Jovit Baldivino received the Promising Singer/Performer Award.

John Lloyd Cruz and Bea Alonzo grabbed the Film Actor and Film Actress of the Year awards. Gerald Anderson and Kim Chiu, meantime, won the Most Popular Love Team of Movies and TV prize.

Drama-action Prince Coco Martin, "Kung Tayo'y Magkakalayo's" star Andi Eigenmann and "Multi-media Star" Toni Gonzaga were also recognized.
