MANILA, Philippines -- Actress-politician Vilma Santos is winning the gubernatorial race in Batangas for the third time.
Santos is leading over her political rivals in Batangas as of 12 p.m. Tuesday.
Commission on Elections (Comelec) partial and official results from 25 out of 34 municipalities in Batangas showed that Santos was leading by a wide margin over Edna Sanchez.
Santos had 360, 028 votes votes while Sanchez had only 243,832 votes.
Dubbed as the Star for All Seasons, Santos was the first woman mayor of Lipa City when she won in 1998. She became the first woman governor of Batangas province in 2004 and was re-elected in 2007.
Santos, who is now married to senatorial bet Ralph Recto, was once married to actor and administration vice presidential candidate Edu Manzano, father of her son Luis Manzano.
