Broadcast journalist Korina Sanchez has said that her wedding with Sen. Manuel “Mar” Roxas II will take place “sooner than later.”
“It will be sooner than later. It could be late this year, it could be early next year,” Sanchez told “Entertainment Live” when asked about the wedding date.
On Friday Sanchez bid goodbye to her dzMM radio morning program and evening newscast “Bandila.” Her farewell came after the broadcast journalist and Roxas confirmed their engagement on ABS-CBN's popular afternoon show "Wowowee" last April 18.
The veteran broadcast journalist will still continue to host her weekly ABS-CBN magazine show, "Rated K," shown every Sunday night.
A farewell party was held for her Friday night, an event attended also by her fiancé.
“Kailangan ko muna talagang magpahinga kasi talagang tuloy-tuloy akong walang tulog,” she added.
Roxas, meanwhile, said he is leaving it up to Sanchez to plan the wedding. “Ang importante nand’on siya [sa simbahan].”
“Maaga pa alam ko na sa mga bagay na ito dapat iiwanan mo na lang kay misis,” he added.
Sanchez chimed in: “He has a say in everything that will happen, except maybe for the color motif.”
She is also looking forward to her life as Mrs. Mar Roxas. She said, after 20 years of working, it is about time to attend to her personal life.
“Gusto kong ayusin ko ang bahay namin ni Mar… Excited ako. Magha-house hunting kami kung sakali. Pag-uusapan na namin kung saan ang honeymoon. Exciting, di ba?” she said.
She also admitted that it might take a long time before she goes back to her work as a broadcast journalist.
“Aba, kung makaka-antay kayo ng anim na taon babalik ako kung su-swertihin lang naman. Ngayon, kung hindi, nandiyan ako maaga-aga.”
