'Booba' no more: Rufa Mae removes breast implants

MANILA - (UPDATED) "Silicone-free!"

This was "Booba" star Rufa Mae Quinto's announcement on Wednesday, referring to the removal of her breast implants after more than a year of "suffering" and the discovery of a benign tumor in her breast.

In the caption of an Instagram photo showing her "all natural" breasts, the 36-year-old comedienne shared that she decided to undergo the operation because her left breast had been hurting for more than a year.

"Yes finally my boobs all naturan am silicon free! [sic] Infairness talagang pasabog makatotohanan ang ganap! Pang tutukan! Saya!" she said in the photo's caption.

Quinto added: "Thanks Dr. Lacson for taking care of my ganap sa boobs. I've been suffering from pain for more than yr. bec. of my left boobs so now ok na. I wanna share lang na kinaya ko ang laha. Gogogo #booba"

In response to a comment on the photo, Quinto explained that she couldn't raise her left hand because of pain for almost two years, adding that she was encouraged by her family to check her condition through MRI.

"I can't think of anything funny anymore so family said samahan Ako MRI ayun meron na pala ganap. So help me God benign naman," she said.

In subsequent Instagram posts, Quinto also shared photos of her in a bikini. One photo, dated May 8, shows her with apparently smaller breasts than in a photo of her posted last May 3.

Quinto, who is known for her "dumb blonde" characters as a comedienne, is famous for her role as Booba in the 2001 film with the same title.
