MANILA – The second episode of "Maalaala Mo Kaya's" two-part series on the 44 elite police commandos killed in an anti-terror operation in Mamasapano, Maguindanao in January was the second most popular topic on Twitter worldwide.
The hashtag #MMKBrave44 was on Twitter's worldwide trending list as the episode came to a conclusion.
Netizens said the episode moved them to tears, with some even calling for justice anew for the slain commandos.
The first episode of the two-part series aired last week told the story of Philippine National Police Special Action Force (SAF) operative Garry Erana (played by Coco Martin) and his fiancee, Suzette Tucay (Angel Locsin).
Martin and Locsin earned praise from netizens for their "undeniable" chemistry.
This Saturday's episode, meanwhile, was about Police Senior Inspector Rennie Tayrus, who was tagged by his father as "duwag" (a coward) while he was growing up.
Ejay Falcon played Tayrus in the episode.
