MANILA, Philippines – Valenzuela City 2nd District councilor Shalani Soledad continues to stand by her boyfriend, Liberal Party (LP) standard-bearer Sen. Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III, amid the surfacing of another alleged psychiatric report on his mental health.
Soledad, a re-electionist in the May 10 polls, said she hopes that the mudslinging against Aquino would come to an end.
“Let us not hit below the belt kasi elections—it's all about what we could bring to the people,” she said during her 30th birthday celebration on Tuesday.
“Kasinungalingan... sana huwag na lang,” she added.
When asked about her birthday wish, Soledad said she wants Aquino to win the presidential race. She also wants a stop to the black propaganda against her boyfriend.
Soledad, meantime, refused to reveal her other birthday wishes, saying that they will just remain as secrets.
Another report on Aquino's mental health was released on Tuesday by former National Power Corp. President Guido Delgado, a supporter of Nacionalista Party (NP) presidential bet Sen. Manual "Manny" Villar, Jr.
Delgado, however, said it was the media’s role to verify the report which allegedly came from the Ateneo de Manila University psychology department.
Fr. Jaime Bulatao, S.J., whose signatory appeared on the document, denied signing or writing the report.
Aquino’s camp also said the document was a fake. LP spokesperson Butch Abad commented, “Nagsisinungaling ‘yan. It’s such a sloppy, amateurish work.”
Villar, for his part, said he had nothing to do with the release of the report.
The first bogus psychiatric report from the Ateneo psychology department on Aquino was circulated early this month.
