MANILA — Cast members and the directors of “Avengers: Endgame” thanked Filipino moviegoers in a video message released Friday as the mammoth film broke box office records here after its April 24 opening day.

Robert Downey Jr., Jeremy Renner, and Brie Larson each expressed their gratitude to fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) from the Philippines in the video released on Marvel’s official Facebook page.

Downey, who has played Iron Man in the film series, said: “To our fans in the Philippines who have been deemed the biggest fans in Southeast Asia, from the bottom of my arc reactor heart, thank you for the overwhelming love and support you’ve shown to the MCU for the past 10 years.”

Also in the greeting were the Russo brothers, Joseph and Anthony, who co-directed four MCU films, including “Endgame.”
