MANILA — Cast members and the directors of “Avengers: Endgame” thanked Filipino moviegoers in a video message released Friday as the mammoth film broke box office records here after its April 24 opening day.

Robert Downey Jr., Jeremy Renner, and Brie Larson each expressed their gratitude to fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) from the Philippines in the video released on Marvel’s official Facebook page.

The star-studded film, which brings a decade’s worth of action and storytelling to an epic conclusion, smashed Philippine box office records on Wednesday. With a P205.6-million take on its opening day, it surpassed the record of its predecessor “Infinity War” (P141.6 million).
