'Meteor Garden' star Barbie Hsu gives birth

MANILA - Taiwanese actress Barbie Hsu, more popularly known in the Philippines as Shan Cai of "Meteor Garden," welcomed her first child on Thursday.

According to a report from Channel News Asia, the 37-year-old, who is married to businessman Wang Xiaofei, gave birth by cesarean section at 3:30 p.m. at a hospital in Taipei.

Hsu shared several photos of her with her baby, who she called "Little Shan Cai," on her Instagram and Twitter accounts.

"Thank you everyone for the congratulations! It's a healthy baby! :)" Hsu said on Twitter.

The still-unnamed child is the couple's first sing getting married in 2011.
