MANILA – Four years after reigning supreme in Asia, El Gamma Penumbra is now set to conquer the world.
Based on the video they posted on Facebook on Sunday, the renowned Filipino shadow play group has joined “World’s Got Talent” in China.
“Sa apat na taon na lumipas, hindi kami tumigil sa paghubog sa aming mga sarili. Ngayong nandito na kami sa China para makilahok sa ‘World’s Got Talent,’ naniniwala ako na ito ang magiging daan para sa aming mga pangarap. Kaya mas gagalingan pa namin para kami ang maging champion sa competition na ito,” one of its members said in a pre-recorded video.
As usual, they wowed the judges and the audience with their performance which highlighted how selfless, unconditional and forgiving a parental love is.
Their moving performance was accompanied by KZ Tandingan’s version of “Anak” with Mandarin translation.
After they took the stage, some members of the audience were seen weeping, obviously moved by the group’s presentation.
“We saw you on ‘Asia’s Got Talent.’ It’s nice to see you again. We loved that you won. You take a blank page with nothing on it and you create something out of nothing. It is magic to me. We don’t know how you do it but we love that you do it,” said David Foster, who was also a judge when they won in “AGT.”
As of writing, the video of El Gamma Penumbra’s performance already has almost 600,000 views and over 10,000 shares.
