MANILA, Philippines - Veteran actress Chin Chin Gutierrez has ventured into singing.

She's one of the artists of Star Cinema's "Sa 'Yo Lamang" inspirational album which was recently launched.

In an interview with abs-cbnNEWS.com, Gutierrez said it has been her dream to serve God through singing.

"He has granted that [dream] through a quiet music ministry with different parishes, singing for ordination, for church," Gutierrez said.

Gutierrez said that it was God who helped her find her "real" singing voice.

"Hindi ko alam na gagamitin pala niya talaga ang singing voice na ito. Sa kanya naman talaga galing at ngayon ay binibigay niya sa tao through this project, through all the other opportunities that I've been able to witness his goodness through songs," he said.

Aside from promoting the mainstream song "Take and Receive" for the "Sa 'Yo Lamang" album, Gutierrez said she is now working on her unique album "Uyayi: A Collection of Philippine Lullabies."

She traveled across the country for the album.

"Cultural, inspirational, religious, spiritual, songs, even regular songs and pop songs, I was able to do, but always with a thought of connecting these love songs through our Creature. It's been wonderful. The first concert that I had, the songs were for humanities....Ang importante lang ay may meaning ang song na ikakabuti ng pagkatao natin," she said.

Gutierrez's last TV appearance was on "Dahil May Isang Ikaw" with Kristine Hermosa and Jericho Rosales as the lead stars.
