Gloria Romero reveals her 'best asset' 1Queen of Philippine Movies Gloria Romero, who started as a star of Sampaguita Studios in the 1950s, shared one of her best attributes that has helped her succeed in all her years in showbizness: loyalty.

Romero, who has worked with ABS-CBN for more than two decades, explained that it is really her nature to be loyal to the company she works for.

Asked why she had chosen to keep working for the Kapamilya Network, she said: "Wala akong reklamo sa ABS-CBN, mahal ko sila at mahal din nila ako. I feel welcomed and I feel loved."

Romero shared her excitement over her latest television project, ABS-CBN's "Komiks Presents: Mars Ravelo's Nasaan Ka Maruja."

Romero, who stars in her latest television project "Komiks Presents: Mars Ravelo's Nasaan Ka Maruja", said she is happy about the acting projects she has received from the Kapamilya Network over the years.

"Mabait sila masyado, at saka faithful din sila sa akin in my 22 years dito sa ABS-CBN. Hindi ko na mabilang kung ilan ang binigay nila sa aking project. 'Iyon nature ko na din na kapag nag-trabaho ako sa isang company, doon na ako. Kahit sa Sampaguita, I worked there for 18 years bago ako lumabas," Romero explained.

Romero, or Gloria Galla in real life, is an American-Filipino. She started doing cameo roles for Sampaguita Studios before she was given her own billing in the film "Kasintahan sa Pangarap" with Tita Duran and Pancho Magalona.

Her transformation as an actress came after she did the movie "Madame X"  with Alicia Vergel and Cesar Ramirez. From there, producers gave her a lot of movie projects, especially drama films.

She was given the chance to do projects with all the best male stars in the country during the so-called golden age of Philippine movies, but it was her love team with Luis Gonzales that endeared her to the masses and made them the hottest pair in Philippine movies.

Among Romero's distinguished films are "Lupa sa Lupa", "Teresa", "Mariposa", "Miss Tilapia" and "Dalagang Ilocana" with King of Comedy Dolphy.

After several decades, Romero still remains one of the country's most bankable stars as she continues to perform with all her best.
