MANILA – For the first time, Kris Aquino on Friday revealed her role in the movie adaptation of "Crazy Rich Asians."
In an interview with ABS-CBN News on Friday, Aquino said she will portray a "princess" in the film, which will open in the United States in August.
"I have no idea [kung kailan ang Asian premiere]. Ayaw ko namang magpaka-feeling. Dadalawa lang naman ang eksena ko, pero prinsesa ako," she said.
Aquino's statement came after the movie's first teaser was released online.
"Crazy Rich Asians" is not Aquino's first foreign film. She had starred in the fantasy comedy "Magic to Win" in the early 1990s after making her debut in "Pido Dida" with the late Rene Requiestas.
On Friday, she also marked her Star Cinema comeback two years since she last made a movie with the ABS-CBN film outfit.
She signed a single motion picture contract which includes a film with Joshua Garcia and Julia Barretto. Titled "I Love You Hater," their movie will be directed by Giselle Andres.
In addition to that, Aquino has several other big screen projects in line.
"There are four projects pitched to me, also one from Quantum. Meron din 'yung sa iFlix, 'yung kay direk Paul (Soriano) and ito," she said.
Currently, Aquino is backed by Cornerstone Entertainment.
