MANILA - Sarah Geronimo can't seem to finish a scene with first-time leading man Piolo Pascual in the first, behind-the-scenes look at their upcoming movie, "The Breakup Playlist," released on Monday.
The 30-second clip shows three takes of the same scene, which sees the two lead characters performing a song.
A giggling Geronimo cannot seem to sustain eye contact with Pascual, who inches closer as they sing.
Produced by Star Cinema, "The Breakup Playlist" revolves around two musicians -- an aspiring professional singer played by Geronimo, and a rock star portrayed by Pascual -- who collaborate and fall in love.
The romance-drama, director Dan Villegas clarified, will not be a musical despite its subject. He noted, however, that viewers can expect concert or gig set-ups in the movie, as it will also feature other artists aside from Pascual and Geronimo.
"The Breakup Playlist" will mark the second major motion picture to be helmed by Villegas, who won best director in the 40th Metro Manila Film Festival for the romance-comedy "English Only, Please."
Villegas, who credits directors Cathy Garcia-Molina and Mae Cruz as among his mentors, was previously the cinematographer of several Star Cinema titles, including "She's Dating the Gangster," "She's the One" and "UnOfficially Yours."
A premiere date for "The Breakup Playlist" has yet to be announced.
