MANILA, Philippines - Hunk actor Diether Ocampo is set to star in an independent film produced by well-acclaimed actor Albert Martinez.

In an exclusive interview with abs-cbnNEWS.com, Ocampo said "Slow Fade" tells the story of a frustrated filmmaker who documents his last remaining days after being diagnosed with cancer.

"May struggle na paano niya tatanggapin ang sitwasyon niya na he was diagnosed with cancer and he knows he is dying, but he also wants to fulfill his dream of becoming a filmmaker," Ocampo said.

"Sila Albert Martinez ang nag-produce, [and] it's an award-winning script sa Cinemabuhay," he added.

The “Rubi” star conceded that as an actor it is “more fulfilling” to be part of an indie film.

"It's something na very rare. You get to work with a project na hindi isyu dito kung ano ang kikitain mo. It's really the passion na gusto mong mag-materialize," Ocampo said.

This is not Ocampo’s first indie movie. He made a cameo role on "Pitong Tagpo” and “Rock and Roll."

Beauty queen-turned-actress Lara Quigaman is also part of “Slow Fade.” -by Reyma Buan-Deveza, abs-cbnNEWS.com
