MANILA - The planned television series "Written in Our Stars" starring Piolo Pascual and Toni Gonzaga has been put on hold, it was revealed on Tuesday.
Speaking to reporters at a press conference for his film "Love Me Tomorrow," Pascual said that the decision to shelve the project is because of the pregnancy of Gonzaga.
"For now, we're not sure what's gonna happen. Of course, we have to respect [Toni] kasi di naman natin puwedeng pigilan 'yun. We're just here no matter what happens. Hintay lang tayo," he said.
Last Sunday, Gonzaga confirmed that she is pregnant with her first child with husband, director Paul Soriano.
Her pregnancy was first reported back in February, but Gonzaga said that she withheld making any announcements because she was waiting for her doctor's approval.
"Nalaman ko lang noong Sunday, salamat naman," replied Pascual when asked if he knew of Gonzaga's pregnancy beforehand. "We never had a chance to talk. ...But, you know, I'll always support [Toni] because she’s a good friend. And we have to give our time because first baby rin naman niya ito."
Back in December, ABS-CBN and Dreamscape released a trailer for "Written In Our Stars." The series is directed by Andoy Ranay and will also star Sam Milby, Jolina Magdangal, Sarah Lahbati, and child actor Marco Masa.
