MANILA—For a year and four months, Bela Padilla has been alternating between posts of photos and seemingly random letters on her Instagram page.
Long-time fans of the actress would have, in that duration, figured she was forming a string of words; a certain group of letters, if read vertically, downwards from her main profile, would say “creation,” for example.
Satisfyingly placed in the middle portion of her three-grid Instagram feed, the posts that show lone letters, if read from top to bottom starting from the one dated April 17, 2019 to Christmas Day of 2017, reveals Bible verses.
They read: “For I am convinced that neither death nor life nor angels nor governments nor things now here nor things to come nor powers nor height nor depth nor any other creation will be able to separate us from God’s love that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
“Feed goals,” was how one fan described Padilla’s long-term endeavor, in a tweet that shared snaps of her Instagram page that clearly illustrate the completed Bible verses from Romans 8.
It’s unclear whether Padilla had set out to conclude the backwards posting of the letters in time for Holy Week. That she had started to do so on Christmas Day two years ago, however, makes it appear that the Christian dates are more than just coincidence.
Prior to the verses from Romans 8, Padilla had also done a similar execution of posts for other lines from the Bible. The one preceding her just-completed one, for instance, was from Psalms 145: “He satisfies the desire of those who fear him; He hears their cry for help, and He rescues them.”
