MANILA -- Julia Barretto said she is willing to portray the iconic Filipino superhero Darna on the big screen.
Barretto was one of the top picks of fans on social media to play the role, following the announcement of Liza Soberano that she will no longer do the Star Cinema production due to her finger injury.
In an interview on Tuesday after a promo shoot for her film "Between Maybes" with actor Gerald Anderson, Barretto said she is willing to go to the audition and wear Darna's two-piece red costume.
"I will do it," she said.
"If there will be auditions, I will go to that audition in panty and bra and just do the thing," she said.
Barretto went on to thank all those who are considering her fit to be the next Darna.
"Thank you so much for even thinking about me. I mean that's a huge thing, that's huge. Thank you," she added.
Barretto has been preparing for her upcoming action film "Block Z" with her boyfriend, Joshua Garcia.
