MANILA, Philippines - Singer Erik Santos has decided to focus on his singing career after graduating from college last Tuesday.
Santos finished his Bachelor of Science in Psychology degree from Centro Escolar University (CEU).
In an interview, Santos said he can now focus on his work, and perhaps, even on a relationship.
"Ang sarap talaga ng feeling na tapos ka," Santos said, during the press conference of "Sa 'Yo Lamang," an inspirational album from Star Records.
Santos said it took a lot of dedication and time management to be able to finish college.
"May mga sacrifices talagang ginawa like yong mga hindi na-oohan kasi may defense, hindi na-oohan kasi may final exams," he said.
What is important now, he said, is that he already has his degree, and he was able to make his parents' wish come true.
Santos thanked his professors from CEU who accommodated his special requests so he could also perform.
"Pero kahit may tour ako abroad ay talaga namang nag-aaral pa din ako, kasi ini-email nila sa akin yong assignment ko at dapat kong gawin," he said.
No girlfriend
Santos also clarified reports that he and his former college girlfriend are back in each other's arms.
"Wala, wala na 'yon," Santos said.
Santos said he is not committed to anyone, and that he's open to having a new relationship.
"Pero siguro, maka-ka-focus ako ngayon aside from my work, mas makaka-focus ako na maghanap ng bagong iibigin," he said.
Santos is the former boyfriend of sultry actress Ruffa Mae Quinto.
Santos is currently part of the weekly variety show "ASAP XV."
