MANILA, Philippines – Former child actor Jiro Manio said his decision to enter a rehabilitation facility was not only for his personal well-being, but for that of his two children.

Manio admitted his fathering a child at 15 years old had initially caused him worry in light of his then-thriving career in show business.
“Kinabahan ako kasi nag-aartista pa po ako noon,” Manio said in an interview aired Saturday on “Showbiz Inside Report.”
Over time, Manio, who was then struggling with drug use, embraced his new role as a father. His children, he said, motivated him to volunteer himself for rehabilitation.
Now with the double triumph of finishing high school and rehab, Manio has more time for his children, but the former child star acknowledged that with dreams of graduating with a college degree and making a showbiz comeback, he cannot give his two kids the full attention they need just yet.
Manio said the children are currently in the care of their grandmother, but added that he is in constant communication with them.
On his new dreams after recovering from professional and personal setbacks, Manio said he continues to find motivation in his children in hopes of giving them a good life.
