MANILA, Philippines – Since starting in show business as an impersonator of Manny Pacquiao, Pooh has already accomplished a lot.
Aside from comedy shows, he has proven that he can do drama, with his stint on “Kung Tayo'y Magkakalayo.” Though the roles given him are often gay characters, he revealed that he dreams of playing a straight guy role.
"Lahat kasi ng mga kabadingan na role nagampanan ko na, baklang maton, baklang maingay. Siguro gusto ko maging isang straight. Wala lang kasi feeling ko naman kaya ko kasi hindi naman ako ganoon ka-loud kumilos. Tame naman ako kumilos. Sabi nga nila kilos lalaki daw ako. So susubukan ko. Gusto kong i-try," he said.
He also never denied that he wishes to play a lead role someday.
He said: "Kahit sinong artista gustong maging lead, pero doon ako hindi nagmamadali kasi may time para doon. Kasi sabi nga ng manager ko huwag masyadong magmadali kasi baka mahilaw, maging mapakla kapag kinain. So maganda ‘yong smooth lang.”
He said, if that time comes, he will pick Pokwang as his leading lady.
Meanwhile, Pooh excitedly disclosed to ABS-CBN.com that he is set to release a solo album.
"May mga binabalak sila (ABS-CBN management) na projects for me after ng 'Kung Tayo'y Magkakalayo.' May mga inaayos na. Tsaka more concerts here and abroad. Tapos baka matuloy na ang album dahil kumakanta rin naman ako. Pero super top secret pa siya,” he said.
